(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 04, 2014 ) Neptune, New Jersey -- Most if not all Resistance Bands are measured by how much resistance there is equal to in weight lifted. In other words the amount of resistance that a Resistance Band gives someone is translated into it's weight equivalent. Or at least it's tried to. Well that might not be the best strategy nor the most accurate when measuring how much resistance one is overcoming.
Resistance Bands are really unique when it comes to an individual working against the type of resistance that's given. Lets take a comparison Image may be NSFW.

Heavy Duty Resistance Band Set For Maximum Resistance
of Resistance Bands vs weight lifting. Picking up a weighted barbell and executing a curl, the most resistance occurs at the start of the curl and drops off rather rapidly. Also with weight lifting there is a tendency to use momentum carried over from the previous rep questioning how much weight is one actually lifting vs added momentum.
With Resistance Bands the process works in the opposite fashion and is more difficult. Starting a curl with the Resistance Bands in hand, executing the movement is at the start rather easy and progressing through the movement becomes progressively difficult. A person starts to use many surrounding muscles to assist the execution of the movement and virtually no momentum is used while experiencing the peak resistance as the exercise nears completion.
One great strategy when working with weights and Resistance Bands is to attach the Resistance Bands onto a barbell or dumbbell and attach the other end to a stationary object be it a bench or other piece of equipment. When executing a movement the resistance will be continuous because the weight resistance will be at the start, and when the weight resistance drops off further on into the exercise, the Resistance Band will kick in offering peak resistance towards the end of the exercise where there was none.
That's why these Resistance Bands from Windhorse Fitness use a general term that describes the resistance of each Band-namely-"Light", "Medium", "Heavy" , "X -Heavy" and "Ultra Heavy". Instead of giving a weight equivalent it gives resistance in terms of difficulty.
