Rajiv Abrol Announces the Importance of Accounting Continuing Education

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 09, 2011 ) Monroe Township, NJ -- Most people would agree that doctors, engineers and lawyers must complete regular continuing education classes. Many of these professions require members to attend continuing education courses in order to keep their licenses to perform the work. Even though accountants aren't always required to complete continuing education classes, Rajiv Abrol believes that all accounting departments should fund continuing education classes for their employees.

Rajiv Abrol has worked in accounting departments for over 12 years. In a previous position, he was responsible for recruiting, training and evaluating other accountants in his department. "I found that people who kept up with their education made the best employees," Rajiv Abrol says. "They had the most up-to-date information, and they remained open to the idea of learning new things and taking on new challenges. When you stimulate your creative side in classes, you become much less fixed in your way of doing things and much more apt to look at old topics in new ways."

Take accounting programs as just one example. The software industry develops new accounting programs almost every year, and those programs can be incredibly complicated. "Some programs have amazing features and they really do allow you to manipulate data in a whole new way," Rajiv Abrol says. "But it takes time to learn these programs on your own. If people don't take classes, they may try to use the new programs to perform the functions of the old programs, so the benefits of the new programming are totally lost." By investing in training, a company can ensure that the costs of the new software truly do result in accounting benefits.

Laws that govern taxes and other accounting tasks are also changing on a frequent basis. "Items businesses could deduct even a few years ago are now no longer considered legal deductions," Rajiv Abrol says. "The IRS doesn't accept the idea that ignorance is bliss. If you don't follow the law, you will be prosecuted for it." Accountants simply need to take courses to brush up on the law and keep their companies out of trouble.

About Rajiv Abrol

Rajiv Abrol has been working in accounting departments for years. He's handled small tasks, such as covering the petty cash drawer and handing out checks, but he's also handled major tasks such as creating financial forecast reports. In his work, Rajiv Abrol has used a variety of computer programs, including MAS 90, Peachtree and QuickBooks. These programs are powerful, but they are no substitute for the real talent of a living, breathing accountant like Rajiv Abrol.
